Coming from Flag Ponds, Breezy Point was it’s contrast. If you look away from the Bay at Flag Ponds you see brush, tall grass, trees, and cliffs. At Breezy Point, you see the road, wires, and some houses/buildings. But if you just want sand and water and can get up early to get a spot, Breezy Point is a find!

Putting the costs aside, this is a perfectly good beach if you are looking for sand, sun, and water. It is rather large for a bay beach, not long but plenty of space, especially given the limited parking situation. It is logistically easy. You park basically on a sandy spot and you are right there. I didn’t use the facilities but the bathrooms are in close proximity as well.

I was turned off a little bit by the netting in the water. I am assuming that is to keep the jellyfish out which would be a massive plus, though I saw some spaces in the netting I hope get fixed before the heat comes in. It isn’t super pleasant to be sitting and staring at netting, though this would be a huge for containing your littles in safe-from-sting water.

There were some other positives for bringing kids to this beach. Besides that everything is in close distance for quick trips to the bathroom or to get something from your car, they also have a small playground and plenty of picnic benches. So you can set up on the sand and let the kids that don’t need 100% supervision play on the playground nearby. Reminds me of North Beach with this feature though this beach is much larger than North Beach.

But, for those that don’t want to look at netting and don’t care about jellies or containing waterbound kids, there is a section of the beach that does not have netting. When I went there there was only one couple hanging out on that side. It was easy to slip into serenity on that side of the beach.

What I liked:
- Large size, plenty of soft sand
- Quick distance to get in and to facilities
- Protected from jellies
- Lots of picnic tables
Not a fan of:
- Price
- Lack of shade
- The view… behind the beach and the jelly netting
- Potential for it to get filled up quickly
Concluding thoughts…
At first I wasn’t really into this beach, but after some thought I think this is a great pic. It would be a great place over the summer to ditch the kids out of camp on a Monday or Thursday and spend the day there. Besides the price and chance for it to get overcrowded, it is an easy typical beach day kind of place.
